At Pusey House: Remembering Anglicanism’s Catholic Roots

In June 2025, I had the pleasure of visiting Pusey House at Oxford. It is a living witness to the continued Catholic revival within Anglicanism.

Edward Bouverie Pusey was a central leader of the Oxford Movement who contended that the Church of England was not a Protestant invention but a true branch of the historic Catholic Church, rooted in the Fathers and the sacramental life; the chapel at Pusey House embodies that conviction by preserving reverent Eucharistic worship, theological scholarship, and devotion ordered toward the renewal of Anglicanism’s catholic mission.
