The Holy Spirit in the Theology of St. Basil and John Calvin


In our Gospel reading, Jesus teaches his disciples that they need more than Him. That Jesus wasn’t enough, that they also needed the Holy Spirit.

The full work of the Holy Spirit ought to be recognized in the Church—in converting souls through conviction and renewing the soul through the “new creation.”
