Our Lay Reader Dan de Villiers has prepared two Visitor Guides to help newcomers—and longtime members—enter more deeply into our Anglican liturgy.
Dan has produced:
1. A Visitor’s Guide to Choral Matins (1940 Hymnal Setting)
This guide walks worshippers through the order of Choral Matins from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, including the Venite, Te Deum, Benedictus, and prayers, with clear structure and musical cues from the 1940 Hymnal.

2. A Visitor’s Guide to Holy Communion (Merbecke Setting)
Just in time for Advent, this guide explains the full shape of the Prayer Book Eucharist—both the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Faithful—set to John Merbecke’s classic 1550 musical setting.

Both guides are ideal for:
- Visitors joining us during the Advent season
- Families training children in Anglican worship
- Anyone wanting to follow the liturgy with clarity and confidence
- Musicians, cantors, and choir members
- Catechumens and those exploring Anglicanism
These resources continue our parish’s mission to worship with beauty, depth, and hospitality and welcoming guests while preserving the richness of classical Anglican liturgy.
